After such a dreamy day celebrating with your loved ones, many couples like you, find it hard to put everything into words to thank their friends and family. How to write a wedding thank you card that your guests will love? That’s a question…
A LOT OF wonderful memories, SO MANY amazing wedding gifts later…
How can a single piece of thank you card possibly be enough to say how grateful you are?
That’s why you are here, right?
You are looking for examples of wedding thank you card messages from bride and groom.
What to write in a wedding thank you card? Hmm…
How much is too much? No one wants to read an essay, right?
In this blog post, we will be sharing…
3 Tips on How to Write a Wedding Thank You Card that Your Guests will LOVE:
1, Just be You
Screw formality! Yes, we mean it.
This is YOUR wedding thank you card, these are YOUR friends and family.
These people know YOU and YOUR tone of voice.
So… why would you try to write like someone else?
Can we suggest something? Write in a way you would speak in real life.
If you had a FREAKING awesome time at your wedding, SAY IT IN CAPS if you have to lol
Don’t worry about the formality of how a “proper” thank you card should be written.

We love the sincerity of Teresa and Cameron’s thank you card because they owned the fact that they only sent out their thank you cards a year later after their wedding day! Oops… It doesn’t really matter though as long as you send them out now 😀
“We made it through our 1st year!”
Regardless of all the things that have happened in the first year of your marriage, YOU MADE IT!
You and your person have made it!
You guys should totally celebrate it even if you still haven’t sent out your thank you cards. Your friends and family will love this little surprise from you when you do decide to extend a belated but heartfelt thank you.

Sometimes getting a late wedding thank you card out of the blue makes people’s day, especially getting these absolutely gorgeous wedding photos from the Ekeledos in the mail! What a lovely reminder of their wedding celebration…
2, Acknowledge their Presence
People like to know that they are valued and appreciated.
Here’s a few wording examples…
“Thank you for coming and sharing our special day because without you, it wouldn’t have been the same!”
“Thank you for celebrating with us on this special occasion! We look forward to sharing more of our future endeavours with you.”

You can also talk about the support they’ve given you even before the wedding day. Most of these people probably have been there for you the whole time.
More wording examples for you…
“Your love and support of our relationship means so much to us and we wouldn’t be who we are without you.”
“Thank you so much for being there for us! We so appreciate having you in our lives.”
3, Make it Personal
One of the ways to make it more relatable and personal is to remind them of your wedding day, of all the fond memories you had together!
“From sweating it out at the ceremony to dancing the night away we felt the love from you on the day.”
This will surely remind them of the fun times at the wedding and make them giggle a little!

Don’t be scared to talk about things that only the guests who attended know about.
Yes, including the inside jokes, embarrassing and hilarious moments…
Bonus tip for you!
4, Read it Out Loud
After you’ve finished writing your wedding thank you message, READ IT OUT LOUD.
Yes, it might seem strange to do it at first but just do it!
As you start reading it, you will be able to see if the message flows well and if any sentences are a bit of a mouthful that might need changing lol
More than that, reading your thank you message out loud allows you to see if it sounds like you and your person…
Remember if it sounds like someone else’s thank you card, it probably does!
Make it special, make it yours! It’s your wedding thank you card after all 🙂

“Thank you so much for joining us either in person or in spirit in Seattle for what felt like the party of a lifetime on our wedding day. There was so much love in the room, and we’re both overjoyed you could share our best day ever (so far) with us.
Here’s to sharing a lifetime of adventures together!”
